last years and includes now 58 certified Charter protected areas, some 20 Candidate protected areas and others interested in the process. With many new and different activities taking place during the last year, the Network has been strengthened and further developed, thanks to the project "European CharterNet" support by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation and the commitment and valuable work from representatives of the Charter Network across Europe.
It is now especially important to maintain the momentum of last years' activities and to define a long-term strategy for the European Charter.
Therefore we kindly invite you to participate in the Charter Side-Meeting to discuss the future steps of the European Charter Network, especially joint marketing and communication activities (Charter website, Reisepavillon 2009), partnerships with central/eastern Europe and the INTERREG IVC proposal. Please get in contact with Petra Dippold at p.dippold@europarc.org if you want to participate and/or contribute actively with a presentation.
