Training sessions and workshops

This year's EUROPARC Conference will see a major change in the organisation and contents of the part of the conference that was previously dedicated to workshops. On many occasions conference participants have expressed their wish to be able to deal with a subject in greater depths and to have a longer amount of time with colleagues. In response to these wishes, training sessions on a variety of subjects have been introduced to the conference this year. A smaller number of conventional workshops will, however, also take place at the end of the day. All sessions and workshops will be linked to the conference theme 'high conservation values and high management standards'.

What is the difference between the new-style training sessions and the conventional workshops?

The training sessions are longer than conventional workshops, starting at 09.00 and finishing at 15.00 (lunch and coffee break included). Each group will be based at one particular venue (also for lunch and coffee) leaving plenty of time for learning and interactive participation.

Each group will have a trainer with specialist knowledge in the chosen subject area. He/she will explain the topic in detail, introduce new tools or concepts related to protected areas and provide updates on the latest trends.

Training seminar and workshop themes

The topics of the seminars and workshops are shown below. At the time of print, full details were unavailable but these will be placed on the conference website by the end of June. Choose the seminar/workshop you want to participate in on your registration form.
